- Many resort to unhygienic materials like cloth or rags due to affordability and lack of awareness.Â
- 71% of adolescent girls are unprepared for menstruation; 70% of mothers consider it taboo to discuss.Â
- 23 million girls drop out of school annually due to inadequate menstrual hygiene management.Â
- Poor menstrual hygiene is linked to 70% of reproductive diseases and thousands of cervical cancer deaths annually.Â
- Promote Safe Menstrual Practices: To guide adolescent girls and young women on safe menstrual hygiene practices, busting myths and reducing stigma associated with menstruation.Â
- Enhance Access to Sanitary Products: To actively Distribute menstrual hygiene kits, including sanitary napkins and personal care items, to women and girls in rural and marginalized communities.Â
- Foster Community Engagement: Conduct awareness workshops and campaigns to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene and promote positive behavioral changes.Â
- Empower Women and Girls: To educate 1.62 lakh women across India on the proper use and sustainable disposal of sanitary napkins. Involve men in understanding the complexities women face during their menstrual cycles, breaking down social stigmas.Â
- Leverage Partnerships: Collaborate with corporate and medical college partners to expand the reach of the program and foster a sense of shared responsibility.
